Quick Start
Get up and running with Wispli in 5 minutes.
Step 1: Basic Transcription
The simplest way to use Wispli:
- Hold
Ctrl + Space(Windows) orCmd + Space(macOS) - Speak naturally
- Release the shortcut
- Your text appears and is copied to clipboard
- Paste anywhere with
Ctrl + V
Pro Tip
Speak in complete sentences for better results. Wispli uses context to improve accuracy.
Step 2: Choose a Formatting Style
Wispli offers 14 formatting styles. Click the style selector or press Tab while recording:

| Professional Email | Business emails |
| Git Commit | Version control messages |
| Documentation | Technical docs |
Step 3: Enable Translation
To translate your speech to another language:
- Open Settings (gear icon)
- Go to General tab
- Set Input Language to your native language
- Set Output Language to your target language
Now when you speak in your native language, the output will be translated.
Example:
Input Language: Spanish
Output Language: English

If your output language is English, Wispli provides real-time coaching:
- Speak in English
- After transcription, click the Feedback panel
- See your scores for:
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
- Fluency
- Pronunciation
- Structure
Your CEFR level (A1-C2) is calculated automatically.
Step 5: Customize Your Experience
Add Custom Vocabulary
Technical terms, names, or jargon that Wispli might not recognize:
- Open Settings → Vocabulary
- Click Add Term
- Enter the term (e.g., "Kubernetes", "GraphQL")
Create Shortcuts
Quick text replacements:
- Open Settings → Shortcuts
- Click Add Shortcut
- Set trigger and replacement:
- Trigger: "my email"
- Replacement: "john@example.com"
Now when you say "my email", it outputs your actual email.
