Overview

When you speak in English (or translate to English), Wispli analyzes your speech across five dimensions:

CEFR Levels

Wispli maps your performance to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR):

A1	Beginner	Basic vocabulary, simple sentences
A2	Elementary	Common expressions, routine tasks
B1	Intermediate	Main points, familiar topics
B2	Upper Intermediate	Complex texts, fluent interaction

C2	Mastery	Near-native proficiency

How It Works

1. Linguistic Analysis

After each transcription, Wispli analyzes:

Your speech:
"I think we should probably consider implementing
a more robust solution for handling user authentication
because the current system has several limitations"

Analysis:

• Achievements and milestones

Feedback Categories

Grammar

Tracks correct usage of:

• Verb tenses
• Subject-verb agreement
• Articles (a, an, the)
• Prepositions
• Sentence structure

Example feedback:

Original: "I am working here since 2020"
Correction: "I have been working here since 2020"
Explanation: Use present perfect continuous for
             actions that started in the past and continue.

Vocabulary

Measures:

• Unique words - Variety in word choice
• Academic vocabulary - Formal/professional terms
• Vocabulary density - Rich vs. repetitive language

Example feedback:

Your vocabulary diversity: 0.72 (Good)
Academic words used: strategy, implementation, analysis
Suggestion: Try incorporating more transition words

Fluency

Analyzes:

• Words per minute (WPM) - Speaking pace
• Filler rate - "um", "uh", "like" frequency
• Sentence length - Average words per sentence

Benchmarks:

Pronunciation & Linking

Evaluates:

• Word clarity
• Linking word usage
• Natural speech patterns

Using Feedback Effectively

Daily Practice Routine

1. Morning warm-up (5 min)

   • Transcribe a few sentences
   • Review feedback
   • Note one area to focus on

2. During work

   • Use Wispli normally
   • Glance at scores periodically

3. End of day review (5 min)

   • Check History for patterns
   • Review common mistakes

Focus on Weak Areas

If your Grammar score is consistently lower:

1. Note the specific feedback
2. Practice that structure
3. Track improvement over time

Gamification

Earn achievements for:

• Maintaining high scores
• Using diverse vocabulary
• Reducing filler words
• Streak days
